Current Community Business

Our current priority is to improve the way we build local capacity around the touchscreen kiosks through the engagement of people and community groups, to create community-specific content that may include:

  • Community Photos
  • Art & Music Gallery
  • Local History
  • Local News, and
  • Success stories –
    • testimonials of lifestyle/behaviour changes related to issues of alcohol, smoking, drugs, petrol sniffing and management of chronic health conditions, including mental health
    • stories celebrating peoples’ achievements in life, leadership, parenting, education, the arts, sport, music etc.

These local capacity-building activities require the development of new partnerships between the HITnet team and other health and new media providers in SE Queensland and Western Australia. To this end we are working with QUT’s Creative Industries Faculty, ACID (Australian CRC for Interaction Design) and Griffith University’s Logan Campus.
